Yes it will help with allergies etc. I washed mine then put the in the freezer and my son doesnt have any allergies( let the dry out frist). It is always better to go over and beyond to make sure everything is just right for you new baby. and Congrats.

I always do. You never know who/what touched them between the factory, the ship, the truck, and the store. I just toss them in the wash with the rest of the baby laundry and hang them to dry.

lol - And I'm not the Mom with the hand wipes - I'm the one with the big bulky cover over the shopping cart so she can't touch a single part of it!

yes, its easy...put them in a pillow case, tie it shut, or use a shoe string to tie it. then wash on delicate cycle, cold water
use the no-dye, no-scent detergent you plan to use on babies clothes, then dry in dryer same way. better safe than sorry. I'm the mom you see at the grocer, using hand wipes to sanitize the buggy lol

I would. Everything sent from overseas and that is made from material is coated with chemicals, to keep bugs off of them.
My husband works with Jones Apparel, loading and unloading trucks and sometimes the chemicals are so strong smelling, they have to air out the truck before they can work.
Toys aren't coated as badly as clothing, but it wouldn't hurt to be safe.
They can be safely washed in warm water, on delicate cycle, and dried in the dryer on delicate.

I only keep the stuffed animals that can live through the washer but some dont come out so great. I would just shake off the dust or take a wet sponge over it.

If you want to, you can. I did with the stuffed toys that had instructions on how to wash. Those that didn't, I just sprayed with Lysol. I chose the apple or berry scented kind, so the toys would still smell good. :) That would be your best bet if you're truly concerned.

I wouldn't bother. By the time you want to give it to him to play with (3-5 months) it won't really matter anymore and will have the germs from your house that he's constantly exposed to.

I did when my daughter was a baby. Stuffed animals do sit on store shelves for how long before they are purchased? Do read the tag to check for launder instructions.

Good for you.....so many toys these days are for DUMBING DOWN kids.

The old tried and true toys work BEST.

Puzzles are good for problem solving.

BLOCKS, (If you can even still find them) are wonderful, because they let the child CREATE and build whatever their immagination can dream up. They also enforce problem solving. Get the geometric ones......not just little square ones.....that include all shapes, sizes and lengths.

Also, as an ex teacher I can swear to you, ......toddlers LOVE WATER play. Yes, just playing with water. Transferring it from bottle to bottle or cup to cup.........like little mad scientists.......they will do this all day if you let them. You can play games to see what floats or not.......they can float ships and boats, .....and it's just about the tactile sensations......

put in some soap suds........and HOLY cow! You could take a three week vacation and when you come back, they will still be at it..............

I have never told my son to "take a bath". I always tell him it's time to play with the water! He can't jump in the tub fast enough. He loves to watch his fingers get all pruney.

Honest........their own IMMAGINATIONS is the BEST "toy".

Toys that "are what they are"........are fun, for 5 minutes and then get tossed aside. Get them something that let's THEM decide what to do with it.....and they will play with it forever.

Hi,
No computer-look alikes. bcos, it can make him a nerd, be carefull about that from this age.
If he hates electronic vehicle toys, then we have a problem. :)
have u tried small cars which he can operate. (not the electronic one. too young for that) .
If he is interested in music, a toy key-board is a reeealll good choice. thats what i did for my son when he was 18 months.
He loved it like anything.
you can find out if he is interested in art by giving him coloring books and stuff (electronic is available).
Im a drummer, so obviously my son had a taste for it, so, I bought him a very small drum kit when he was like 2 and a half.He played it like crazzy , (he broke it later but it was a best choice of a toy).
for small intervals of time, you can make him do very simple gigzo puzzles.you can make small pieces of architecture and make him build a simple house or something.(those things are available in any kiddie store).
importantr things are,
dont let him start using an ear phone to listen to songs
no computer games....
dont let him sit in a place constantly with a book.
and the very important thing,
make him play with other kids...
regards
Alex John
My son is 3 now. some day he is gonna be a great drummer. I hope. I started letting him play one of my drum kits allready.
he has a built-in sence of music.

You can take a cushion or stuffed toy.
The only countries blocking stuffed toys from entry are those that do not allow wood to enter, and they only block those toys that are (or may be) filled with wood.
If you are very attached to your toy, you might prefer to bring a cushion instead.

Most people I have seen using cushions during my recent flights used air filled pillows, mostly in U shapes. Those are much easier to transport.

No.

For one thing, teddy bear hamsters are solitary creatures and bitterly resent roommates. They fight each other to the death and don't tolerate any other fuzzy interlopers.

For another, they aren't compatible.
